General terms and conditions +

Brighter Days provides cleaning, lawn mowing and agreed outdoor services. The exact service, price, date and scope are confirmed through a quote, booking, invoice, service agreement or other written communication.

  • Clients must provide accurate property, access and hazard information.
  • Work is completed within the agreed scope and available time. Extra requests may be declined, priced separately or booked for another visit.
  • Brighter Days may pause, change or refuse unsafe work or tasks outside the agreed scope.
  • Results may be affected by property condition, staining, materials, weather, lawn condition, hidden defects and accessibility.
  • Other people at the property must not interfere with the work in a way that affects safety or completion.
  • Payment, cancellation, privacy, damage and complaint matters are handled under the relevant policies below.
Bookings, deposits, payments and cancellations +

A booking is confirmed once the agreed requirements, written confirmation and any required deposit have been received. The standard deposit is 30% unless otherwise agreed.

  • Residential invoices are generally due within 3 days. Approved commercial, agency or other accounts may have different written terms.
  • Overdue accounts may receive reminders and final notices. Future services may be placed on hold while an account remains unpaid.
  • 48 hours or more notice: no cancellation charge.
  • 24–48 hours notice: up to 50% of the booked service may be charged.
  • Less than 24 hours notice or preventable no-access/no-show: up to 100% may be charged.
  • Genuine emergencies may be considered reasonably. Eligible deposits may transfer to a rescheduled booking.
  • If Brighter Days is delayed by more than approximately 10–15 minutes, we will provide an updated arrival time. Clients are not charged for service time not delivered because of our delay.
  • If we must cancel, we will offer the earliest practical replacement appointment. An eligible deposit may be transferred or refunded if a suitable replacement cannot be arranged.
Cleaning service and client preparation +

Cleaning is performed within the confirmed booking period using the agreed priorities. What can be completed depends on property size, condition, accessibility, build-up and the time booked.

  • Routine cleaning covers agreed accessible areas. Deep cleaning, internal appliances, detailed windows, heavy build-up, extensive walls, carpet steam cleaning, specialist mould or biohazard treatment, pressure washing and rubbish removal require separate agreement or a specialist.
  • Clear unnecessary items from floors, benches and priority areas where practical.
  • Secure cash, jewellery, medication, important documents and fragile or sentimental belongings.
  • Tell us about damaged surfaces, hazards and areas requiring particular care.
  • Children, dependants and other household members remain the client’s responsibility and must not prevent staff from working safely.
  • If access, clutter or property condition materially affects the service, we may prioritise the available time or discuss a revised scope or additional booking.
Lawn mowing and outdoor service policy +

Outdoor services may include lawn mowing, edging, whipper snipping, basic lawn maintenance, agreed garden tidy-ups, leaf clearing, basic weeding and other specifically quoted tasks.

  • Lawns and access routes must be reasonably clear. Identify or remove rocks, wire, toys, hoses, cables, irrigation, animal waste, glass, holes and other hidden hazards.
  • Pets must be secured away from active work areas. Tell us about aggressive animals, bees, wasps, snakes or other known animal hazards.
  • Small amounts of clippings may be managed during the service. Off-site green-waste removal is not automatically included and may cost extra.
  • Services may be modified or rescheduled for unsafe weather, wet or unstable ground, unsafe slopes, poor access or equipment risks.
  • Lawn appearance is affected by weather, soil, watering, pests, disease and previous maintenance. Mowing does not include lawn treatment, weed eradication, fertilising, landscaping or horticultural diagnosis unless separately agreed.
Property access, keys and security +
  • Provide accurate instructions for gates, keys, lockboxes, intercoms, alarms and parking.
  • Keys and access codes are used only for legitimate service purposes.
  • If we cannot access the agreed area at the booked time, the service may be delayed, shortened, charged or rescheduled under the booking policy.
  • Tell us promptly if a key, code or access arrangement changes.
  • For outdoor work, gates must be unlocked and routes reasonably clear unless another arrangement is confirmed.
  • If a key is believed lost, it must be reported immediately so the matter can be investigated.
Breakages and property damage +

Brighter Days takes reasonable care around client property. Clients should identify existing damage, fragile items, unstable fixtures, irrigation and other relevant conditions before work begins.

  • Secure or clearly identify valuable, fragile or sentimental items.
  • Accidental damage we become aware of will be documented and discussed.
  • Report suspected damage as soon as reasonably possible with clear information and photos where available.
  • We may inspect the area, review photos and speak with the worker involved before reaching a conclusion.
  • Brighter Days is not responsible for pre-existing deterioration, hidden defects or undisclosed hazards that could not reasonably be identified.
  • Insurance matters follow the applicable insurer and policy requirements. Where responsibility is accepted, we will work toward a reasonable resolution.
Privacy and confidentiality +

We may collect contact details, addresses, booking and service information, access instructions, invoices, payment records and communications needed to provide and manage services.

  • Information is used for enquiries, quotes, bookings, service delivery, invoices, appointment communication and managing concerns.
  • Keys, codes and property information are used only for legitimate service purposes.
  • Workers receive only the information reasonably necessary to complete the booked service and are expected to keep it confidential.
  • Photos may be used to document condition, hazards, damage, concerns or completed work. Identifying photos are not used publicly without permission.
  • Website and business software providers may process information as part of delivering those systems.
  • Clients may request access to or correction of their personal information where applicable and reasonably practical.
Complaints and service concerns +

Contact Brighter Days as soon as reasonably possible if something has not met expectations. Provide what happened, the exact area involved, when it was noticed and relevant photos or supporting details.

  • We may ask follow-up questions, review the agreed scope, inspect the area or speak with the worker involved.
  • Possible outcomes include clarification, advice, further assessment, a reasonable rectification option or another appropriate response.
  • Work outside the agreed scope, pre-existing conditions or outcomes that could not reasonably be achieved are not automatically eligible for rectification.
  • Communication must remain respectful. Abuse, threats and unsafe behaviour are not accepted.
  • Records of concerns and actions may be kept to support consistent handling and business improvement.
